Urban Design & Transportation Planning Lecture 1 – April, 2021
The lecture was delivered to Transportation Engineering students. The lesson focused on a multi-disciplinary approach to addressing projects and planning. It covered two major areas of work – Urban Design and Transportation Planning. The theoretical concept of Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, and Transportation Planning was demonstrated through real world projects like Transit Oriented Development and Sustainable Corridor Development. MPO functions and activities like Transportation Improvement Program, Long Range Transportation Planning, and Comprehensive Plans were explained in detail to teach students about the process of planning and the delivery of the final products. The main takeaway for students was to become thinkers and learn to work in a collaborative team environment.
